Spirituality
Purpose of Research: To explore the relationships between our internal and external realities
and expand our capacity for bringing the fullness of who we are into our physical world.
One of our early projects—before the Universe decided we need to delve more deeply into this
area—was a focus on the concept of Spiritual Learning. The question we asked was: Do
human characteristics that are spiritual in nature contribute to the learning process? We
engaged a systematic approach: defining terms; identifying representative human
characteristics spiritual in nature; surfacing assumptions; and identifying emerging themes
among the representative spiritual characteristics with respect to learning. The Findings?
There appears to be a positive correlation between the representative spiritual characteristics
and human learning. For better or worse, the material and non-material universe are married
in the conscious and unconscious learning of the human mind.

A second project involved the exploration of Reiki. Both David and Alex went through various
initiations to enable the Chi to freely flow through them and promote healing. David is a Level
3, and Alex is a Reiki Master. They continue to practice Reiki, primarily when the farm animals
have a need. Here is an overview paper of Reiki from historical emergence to its use of energy
for healing.

A third project involved the use of sound coupled with a binaural beat to produce a whole brain
state, what is called Hemispheric Synchronization. This became a tool for learning and self
improvement that is used regularly at the Institute in workshops and as an experiential
exercise for individuals to get in touch with their unconscious. Research on Hemispheric
Synchronization was published in support of the paper titled "The Human Knowledge System:
Music and Brain Coherence."

In the latter part of June 2010 we received a wake-up call when a miracle occurred saving
David's life. A month later Alex noticed an orb with what appeared to be a face in it. This led to
a summer of "Orbing" at Mountain Quest followed by a set of amazing events in October which
are the subject of our first book of The Myst Series. Titled The Journey into the Myst, the
description reads:
“What we are about to tell you would have been quite unbelievable to me before this journey began. It is
not a story of the reality either of us has known for well over our 60 and 70 years of age, but rather, the
reality of dreams and fairytales.” This is the true story of a sequence of events that happened at Mountain
Quest Institute, situated in a high valley of the Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia. The story begins with
a miracle, expanding into the capture and cataloging of thousands of pictures of electromagnetic spheres
widely known as “orbs.” This joyous experience became an exploration into the unknown with the
emergence of what the author’s fondly call the Myst, the forming and shaping of non-random patterns such
as human faces, angels and animals. As this phenomenon unfolds, you will discover how the Drs. Alex and
David Bennet began to observe and interact with the Myst. This book shares the beginning of an
extraordinary Journey into the Myst.
This eBook is downloadable from Amazon
Kindle. Here is a JPEG with the cover picture which
is titled "The Mask of Myst" and described as: "Beyond being, a parable in motion, a mask of
light weaves through the night trailed by faces in the Myst."
Over the past two years we have photographed more that 47,000 pictures of the Myst. In
the beginning of 2013 we published our second eBook in The Myst Series titled Patterns in the
Myst. The description reads:
The Journey into the Myst was just the beginning for Drs. Alex and David Bennet. Volume II of the Myst
Series brings Science into the Spiritual experience, bringing to bear what the Bennets have learned through
their research and educational experiences in physics, neuroscience, human systems, knowledge
management and human development. Embracing the paralogical, patterns in the Myst are observed, felt,
interpreted, analyzed and compared in terms of their physical make-up, non-randomness, intelligent
sources and potential implications. Along the way, the Bennets were provided amazing pictures reflecting
the forming of the Myst. The Bennets shift to introspection in the third volume of the series (available in
Spring 2013) to explore the continuing impact of the Myst experience on the human psyche.
This eBook is also downloadable from Amazon
Kindle. Here is a JPEG with the cover picture
which is titled "Approaching Night" and described as "The evening lights of Mountain Quest
form a conversational backdrop for reflecting on the lessons of the day." We are including the
Preface of the second eBook here, which is a photo story sharing the forming and deforming of
the Myst, amazing pictures that began in the Fall of 2012.
