The Longhorns
There are currently four Longhorn Cattle on the farm. They
roam the long field that follows the front road, and several
smaller fields (hard to see from the road) that bound the
creek. While these cattle are indeed pets, especially Charlotte,
they can be quite dangerous to be close to because they do not
understand how long and pointed their horns are! One swish to
get rid of a fly could cause some damage! So we admire them
at a distance, that is, everyone but Andrew (although note is is
on the other side of the fence!)
All four are females, although their horns are quite large!
Charlotte is the only pure black one. In the early days of the
farm there was a large herd of cattle. Charlotte was an
abandoned calf who had to be bottle-fed, and she became part
of the Mountain Quest family. The other three Longhorns are
Buttermilk (White with black marks and legs); Chocolate
(Brown with a bit of white accent); and Salt (Black with white
dots on her rear).
