Learning

Learning is the creation and acquisition of potential and actual ability for people to take effective action, or in other words, the creation of knowledge.  It is a dynamic process that manifests itself in the continually changing nature of organizations, exemplified by innovation, collaboration, and culture shifts—especially during times of change, uncertainty, and external challenge.  For an in-depth treatment of neuroscience and adult learning, see the Learning area under Research.

This work is a collaboration of souls, all those who have dreamed of, participated in or relished in the results of the powerful sounds of Metamusic.® The first five chapters of this book relate more to important concepts about learning and the brain. The second half of the book focuses on the magic of music and Metamusic® in the learning process. You will discover that there is a transaction in learning between the student, the subject, attitudes and Metamusic®. While the focus is on high school and college level students, much of what is shared can be applied to all ages, all cultures and in varying situations, and music crosses the barriers of language. Written collaboratively by two committed practitioners with two very different education and experience sets, you will discover a myriad of anecdotes, practical learning exercises, visuals and storytelling punctuated by neuroscience findings, learning theory and personal examples. Join us in this journey into the new frontier of the mind/brain.
