ICAT

The Intelligent Complex Adaptive Team

The ICAT is a team that can respond to the changing demands of a changing and complex environment.   Collaboration makes it easier for a team to learn.  Enterprise partnering makes it easier for a team to obtain feedback from its stakeholders.  In turn, a high collaboration level can help develop and implement a strong enterprise partnering program.  Feedback indicates a potential need for the team to reassess itself and can help direct team learning.  An ICAT must dynamically manage key success factors to ensure the team learning and performance needed for a given task as well as long-term sustainability of the organization it supports.

Developing a Model for Team Learning and Success  Builds a conceptual team model based on key success factors driving high sustainable performance.  Written from the practitioner's point of view, this paper explores the following questions:  When does a team achieve maximum learning and performance?  What conditions affect that outcome? What roles do leadership, collaboration and partnering play?  How do team tools such as technology and dialog contribute to team learning and success?   (PDF, 37 pages)
