Decision-Making
While all decisions are a guess about the future, as complexity builds upon complexity
decision-makers must increasingly rely on their intuition and judgment. The papers
below begin by looking at decision-making in a complex environment. To provide
balance and hopefully insights, we then look at decision-making from the inside-out,
the domain of the mind/brain.
The Decision-Making Process for Complex Situations in a Complex
Environment. Specific focus on a complex adaptive mess in terms of laying the
groundwork for decision-making, understand and exploring complex situations,
discussing human additive factors, preparing for the decision process and mechanisms
for influencing complex situations. (PDF, 13 pages)

Leaders, Decisions, and the Neuro-Knowledge System. Every decision-maker
has a self-organizing, hierarchical set of theories (and consistent relationships among
those theories) that guide their decision-making process. The workings of our
mind/brain provide a model for decision-making in a complex situation. (PDF, 15
